Those that might “borrow” know you’re a fireman and have cop friends, right?! But stupid is stupid!
The one that I am positive borrowed it, yeah most definitely knew. Female teenager with her boyfriend....old neighbor. They are no longer living there... good riddance as she was problematic and why I planted about 14 pine trees.
So you leave it right there so close to the road?
Yes our property has a lot of road frontage on a state route. So there's traffic going by almost constantly. We also have good neighbors that watch each other's places. Then add in the people that know us and drive by on a daily basis, and the local farmers coming past that I know.

Deputies, ODOT and County Highway crews, State Patrol and local Volunteer FD all drive by and look at our place.

Our place has very good security.... that is not security.

So I tried to hook up the computer yesterday to the 43" TV and no go. From what I read I just needed a VGA to HDMI adapter...

Got it.

And thought I was good to go. Everything connected, zip ties together, wires hung and put away nicely.

It no worky.... further reading says I need an "active VGA to HDMI adapter" because I am going from analog to digital. Well, I think the correct piece will be here today from The Jungle.

Up and running.

KIMG3176.JPG

I will need to grab an extension for audio cable. The 10' cable wasn't quite long enough.

Once I get that, I can finish getting all the wires ******* and replace the shelf or two I took down.
Audio on mine is lacking. I brought out an old sound bar from the house bitnit cut in and out so bad I tossed it. I need to grab a new sound bar or some kind of improved audio setup. Its nice to use the tv as an extension of the laptop.

I've got a stereo receiver that is also hooked up to the TV so I can select that and broadcast the TV sound across the garage.

The small issue is just getting the sound from the computer to the TV... that will be solved today.

So the old VGA to VGA cable had an integrated audio cable and it worked fine. However, the old TV had a VGA input as it was an older flat screen TV. The VGA to HDMI adapter I used foist had a jack for the audio. It didn't work like I mentioned as I needed a active adapter because I was going to an HDMI cable/port.

Once I had the new active adapter, I thought I tested it out. Apparently not, but the audio cable was long enough, straight as a crow flies. Once I tied it in place, it was too short like I thought it might be. That caused me to buy an audio cable extension. Once I had that, it was long enough and everything was once again, zip tied in place. That was last night.

Somewhere between last night and this morning, I thought to myself, did I actually test computer sound ?? Nope. I tried it this morning when I went to the garage. I computer sound from the PC itself and that wont work for me, nor was it what I wanted.

So back to the drawing board and testing stuff out, cables/port locations. It dawned on me, use the green speaker output on the PC and go right into the stereo receiver. BAM. Sometimes we overlook the obvious. So now, I either use this big *** 10' audio cable or go buy a shorter one. If I buy a shorter one, I can just get a 3.5mm jack to RCA cord. I can also grab a few other things as seen in the picture above.

Now, after I finish lunch, I can wrap up this little TV shuffle project.

Nice progress E. I gotta know where’d you get that flex shaft 90 degree adapter? It sure looks like a cuss word generator but it also looks like a once or twice *** saver. I got to get one.

Thanks
Cam, it's marked Black and Decker. . . More than likely, I bought it at Menards.

I know you don't have the Green Big Box store out there but here's the link.

I will say that I learned something today about rivets.

If you are using the larger 3/16" rivets like these...KIMG3197.JPG
and a regular rivet gun like this..

Get ready to realize this is not a simple squeeze and pop like you're used to.

Might be time to step up to a air rivet gun or two handed model.

Eric, I did fine with my Craftsman simple lever pop rivet gun because I was using 1/8" aluminum pop rivets. A job that required bigger aluminum pop rivets had me upgrade to a swivel head Stanley similar to yours. Then I had to use some stainless steel pop rivets and forked over money for a two handed (more like full body) Astro but soon discovered you are SOL in tight spaces so a Chicago Pneumatic pop rivet gun followed me home from Harbor Freight. I should have skipped the Astro and gone straight to the air gun.

I also thought that red handled rivnut tool would be fine. Beyond a 1/4-20 it was too big a fight so I ended up with an air rivnut gun as well. I skipped the two handed upgrade.

Thanks Bob.

I don't do much riveting but it would be nice to have a larger 2 handle one but I seriously have considered a pneumatic one.
