I am getting ready to do a huge project involving renovation of my garage this spring/summer. Currently it has what looks like 1x3 slat siding (unknown when it was built, possibly early 1900's) the garage appeared to be a standard 2 car garage with several renovation add on over the years. We are doing a full strip down of the roof with possibly having to replace rafters as well as lots of sheeting. ( hopefully not, but we are prepared for it)
Anyway, the main question here is I plan to put some sort of "foam board" insulation on the exterior before we steel side the whole thing. Anybody that has done this or builds care to give input on which "foam board" is better to use under siding? I'm looking on home depot and there is
R-TECH EPS rigid foam board
OR
Owens Corning Foamular XPS board (standard pink board)
Which is the proper type to use under siding
