I recently installed a Liftmaster LM650 EVO opener on my single skin steel roller garage door.
Ever since installing the opener, the door has been quite loud when opening and closing. There is a definite creaking from the springs inside the roll and also some judder from the door when it is going down.
I had the door installed by experts and I then fitted the opener myself. I had an expert come out and check I had installed the opener properly and they said I had and that the noise was normal. Having compared the sound of mine to a neighbours, it is definitely not normal.
I have attached a photo below of the type of door and opener, as it is less common in the US than in the U.K.
