Nice job!

For a second there, I thought you were advertising to give it away...for free.

My neighbor was throwing a couple of boxes like that away. Of course, I had to drag them home! I didn't repaint them, as they weren't in bad shape. They found immediate use as tool storage.

What did you strip it with ? I have an old one (not that old) that I'd like to repaint.

Aircraft remover from autozone and various wire wheels. First scrape the chemical stripper then reapply a few times, then use the wire wheel slowly.

That aircraft remover is good stuff. I don't see any aircraft anywhere near that tool box.

Nice looking restoration job. You just can't find decent metal tool boxes any more. I look for them at garage sales all the time.

Here is one I restored, a freebie from a friend. It was rusted and missing the drop-in tray. I degreased it and used the bead-blast cabinet, then repainted it with leftover rattle cans. As for the tray, I fabricated a new one from 20ga sheet metal and a cheap Harbor Freight metal brake, and MIG welded the handle to the tray.

I had hoped to use it in my truck but turns out it's about 3 inches too long to fit under the rear seat :(
