I like to hit the garage sales in the neighborhood at lunchtime. Saw an add for one today, no address, just a street name and the come on of "many tools". I found the street on mapquest and headed over. Turns out the guys dad was a SnapOn tool man. Some guy first thing in the morning bought a lot of stuff. When I got there I picked out all this for $50. I originally thought the tap & die set was SnapOn but it's labelled Ace in handwriting and says USA.

I had to hit the cash machine after work because I was broke and headed over there on my way home. Picked up the rest of this for $45. The wrench sets are a metric Matco set and US std mixture of Mac, matco & SK. The 3/8 air gun is a BluePoint. Not in the pic is a SnapOn coffee cup and three SnapOn belt buckles. All & all, a VERY good day!

Looks like my weekend finds at the local Park&Swap!

Went to a different one last sunday. Found a bunch of stuff for less than $50.

Including a Plomb, Wards Master and an early Husky, all 1/2" dr ratchets. A 10" B&C cresent style wrench. A pair of Proto compound pliers. A bunch of wrenches.

My wife sent me to the market for BBQ supplies and the market just happened to be near that guys garage sale and I wound up there again. I spent $50 for some Snapon deep 3/8" drive metric impact and chrome sockets, a set of 1/2" drive metric sockets, three metric and three std off-set open end wrenches, snap ring pliers, some oddball sockets & wrenches, a brand new Blue Point 6" orbital sander and a Snapon Babe wall clock.

Gotta add to this myself. Got this one a couple of weeks ago for $15! Not the most powerful thing in the world but it works rather well. :D

YOU ****! Great idea though. I'm going to try that. Do you find the ads in the daily paper for the most part?

Thanks for posting those links that is going to be my first site I hit every day. I LOVE buying good quality used stuff at a fraction of wholesale.

At $15 you got overcharged by $14. Honestly, I have one that looks almost identical that I paid $40 new and it's a huge pain. (Cheap tools, ugh!) The plastic depth gauge on the side broke. The pulley loosens up over time and requires work. The thing is never tall enough, I run into problems with my vice and larger drill bits. The side play adjustment (?? name) bolt broke also, so I ended up putting a 3/8 bolt/nut in the side to fix it. The thing also has a lot of play in it. The only redeeming quality is it beats drilling holes with a hand drill. Someday I'll get a better floor model or maybe something like a Shop Smith.
