Garage sale surprise

Went to a garage sale today in Clear Lake, WI. A couple surprises, at least for me. Lots of tools. One table had 3 Chinese marked combo wrenches, 1.5", 1.75", 1 5/8". Each priced at $30. 2nd surprise, a 60+ yr old male shopper wearing a bright red dress. I didn't buy anything as prices on used stuff was bloated. Did get a laugh at the dress wearer.

I was approaching the doors of a CVS store about ten years ago when a 40s something guy walked out with a full unkempt beard and wearing a white with blue print sun dress. I'll say, he was turning some heads. He looked happy as a lark.

I hope it was below knee. I hate when older folks wear clothes meant for a younger generation.

One of the guys I used to work with started wearing short dresses to work. I was very careful to look away so I did not accidently get an "up-skirt" view.
This was 30 years ago.

I went to pick up my car from my 50-year old+ mechanic recently. He had if for several months doing some resto-type work. When we arrived he was wearing a long black wig, makeup and a dress sitting at his desk He said he was tired of "pretending". He competed the car in a dress and heels.

I got a 6 piece open end wrench set.. 1 3/8 - 2" only when I got home I realized the 2" one was missing. I was kind of pissed then I realized I paid the guy 5 bucks for them. He wasnt wearing a dress tho.

I had to look up where Clear Lake was, I'm from La Crosse, been near it many times but I don't think I've been there. Especially in a dress.

Yeah, $30 each for those wrenches is nuts. I swear a lot of the people at flea markets and such are just there to get out of the house for a while and for the exercise of loading the exact same **** back onto their truck every week.


There's a gent from Phoenix who was (and may still be) a frequent flyer in assorted skimpy lady's clothing and lingerie. He's become a minor celebrity, and I look for him whenever I'm passing through PHX. Haven't sighted him yet.

I love different people. I hope he's still out there, wearing the hell out of whatever the hell he wants. It would be an extremely boring world if everyone was the same.

Hopefully an attempt to scare away the competition. Like that guy who farts in an estate sale. Those “jumbo” wrenches, equally scary at that price.

One day back when I was delivering pizza, I was standing on some front-door steps, knocking on a door. The door opens, I am looking down at the pizza so I can see the price. I turn my head and see fuzzy pink high-heel slippers and a pink robe. My eyes follow the robe up to the face. It was a dude, and he looked like Erkel. "That'll be 12.50, Ma'am... Buddy..."

Many years ago (maybe 35) I worked in a lumber yard and one regular customer/contractor wore woman's high heels regularly. He said it was the cheapest way for him to alleviate some foot problems and pain. And I do have a couple of friends who wear a kilt for special occasions, but that's not a dress.

There are several annual tractor shows around these parts, and every year for the last 25-30 years, there are the same guys displaying most of the same rusty junky over priced tools "for sale". I really think most of them are just out airing out their roving mobile collection of junk tools. So far, glad none of them have had the need to 'air out' themselves with any womans attire.....yet.

Yep, I've always been pretty sure that most of the "vendors" at flea markets, shows, meets, swaps, and such are simply mobile hoarders.
