In my experience with wire shelving, there is a great difference between what is at the local box store (cheapest) and what you can get from a restaurant supply (quality). Even though they all look the same in the pic, there are differences. Just depends on what you are using it for. If you need it to hold some weight and want it to last, get good quality.

I have Plano shelving in my garage. You can cut the tubes to whatever length you want to adjust shelf height. These are cheaper and sturdier than any consumer grade metal shelving.

I just build my own out of wood for like half the price.

:+1: on that ^^^^^^^^^

Plus, you can have the space between shelves exactly what you need to maximize your space utilization. Here is what I built from melamine coated 3/4 inch thick MDF and some pine 1x2 furring strips. No fancy joinery...just glue it and screw it.

I found mine online, a little over a year ago, at Rakuten, for $57.99. No guarantee they still have it at that price, but they do offer deals frequently

When I retired from the food biz I kept my heavy stainless table and wire racks, they cost a lot more than northern tool racks. Ive used mine as ladders no problem. Alum sheetpans on some racks to prevent small stuff falling through.

That's not bad for ventilated shelving.
Do you have a target price based on some reason? Or, just want it cheaper if you can?

just trying to fine one similar at the best price since im sure like with most things nowadays there is probably one china company pumping these out with all diff brands names on them.

Same style unit only 16" deep at HD for $59.

I bought eight "Heavy Duty Adjustable 82"x48"x18" 6 Tier Wire Shelving Rack" off ebay for $59 each w/ free shipping a little over 3 or so years ago (had to search my email to remind me when and how much I paid and notice that I also got 10% back in ebay bucks so took advantage of one of those offers while I was at it) and loaded the **** out of every one of them with chainsaws and chipper/stumpgrinder/lift/etc parts. I've had to move them around many times. I look back at it as one of my better value purchases.

edit: A quick search on ebay just now and the seller I bought from is no longer but they're still available for right around that price or less (esp if you don't need 6 shelves) from many sellers w/ good ratings.

I bought one very similar from Costco online when it was on sale. Or, if you have a business Costco nearby, check there.
