I have a large utility sink in my garage and I'd like to put a backsplash around it in order to keep the drywall from getting damaged. Has anyone done something like this? If so, what material did you use? I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something functional that looks decent.

I did the walls in my shop bathroom with glass board. I also used it behind the wash sink in the shop. It is white plastic paneling with a texture on one side.

It just occurred to me that something like Formica might work. Not that I'm looking to be fancy but there are lots of colors available. I'd like to put some cabinets up over the sink as well.

After i poured the concrete countertop my wife came home with a couple of pieces of plastic stone work, it has actually help up well. I figured it would be easy to replace if it didn't work out.

My slop sink has it's own backsplash. About 2 feet high. With holes cut out for faucets but i did surface mount.

Wild coincidence... I too am needing a back splash for my garage sink. Recently got a dispenser for my concentrated car cleaning chemicals and I put it over my sink in my garage. Issue with this is **** now runs down the wall.

Found a 24x30 stainless steel backsplash online at lowes... Went to pick it up after work one day and the place is evidently bored, they decided to rearrange THE ENTIRE STORE. Why a store decides to move around literally everything is beyond me. No one could find the 9 back slashes they had in stock (according to the interwebs).... Wasted an hour following the person around and I finally gave up and was leaving... Walked by the lawnmowers and wouldnt you know it, the back splashes are with the lawnmowers. They had 1 (ONE) in stock and it was bent in half. I left.

X2 on the diamond plate. Had it kicking around w/ no immediate other use. Gets compliments. You can by very inexpensive thin diamond plate at HD.

I am cheap, crashed the race car and tore the side off, reskinned it a different color and saved the roof panel, it made a nice backsplash for my sink even has my name on it. It also reminds me when to back off.

My backsplash is white Formica mounted on 1/4" masonite. I trimmed the edges with aluminum J-moulding mitered at the corners.

It's easy to find free tiles on Craigslist or Freecycle. Or just post on social media; TONS of people have some extra lying around. I do if you're in SE Wisconsin!!!
