Looking to get a new garage built and have some sizes in mind. Max square footage I can go without footings is 850. So I have come up with 35x24 and 32x26. Will have 10ft side walls(2x6). 18x8 and 9x8 garage doors. Will have project car and 2 daily drivers parked in it. I also have shed for storage. But will have a work bench and tool box to keep in the stall with the lift or on a side wall. Any input/advice on the sizes?

I built a 24x40 and wish I had gone 5 feet in each direction more. What size cars are go parking and working on, it will make a difference. I have shelving on the back wall of mine and when I pull in my Ramcharger i have about 3 feet in front of the vehicle to maneuver. When I was working on my miata I had plenty of room.

Can you go bigger with footings?

Which way is the depth? I'd go the deeper solution if the 24' and the 26' is the depth. 24' can get tighter with larger pickups, if that is a concern to you. But also to consider, how are you parking the cars? Little MGs or Miatas end to end or a GTO and Charger side by each?

I'd also do with taller garage doors if you going to have 10' walls why kill the opening with only 8'?

Would be 24 or 26 for depth. I could go bigger but footings may go outside what I want to spend. The cars are malibu, rx7 and a ridgeline. As for as door size not really set in stone. I doubt I will have anything that would require a bigger door.

I'd go 35 ft (or even 36 ft if you can get away with it). 12 ft of width per vehicle allows ample room for working around cars or opening doors. Unless you have monster vehicles, 20 ft depth will be adequate (I didn't say "plenty" because you can always use more :D). This lets you have three 10ft wide doors and still have room for door frames. 32ft wide will be tight and restrict you to 9ft doors.
