Hello to All:
I am new to Garage Journal, I am also inspired by all the awesome garages. My question is there a cheap software that will allow me to redesign my garage interior virtually? I want to put the deminsions down, and move tool boxes, parts cabinets, map out light fixtures a outlets etc around virtually. I would like to sort of see things before I move them,or even see if it is possible. :)

Thanks

I use MS Visio. Excellent layout tool for a lot of different things... including garages. After making a bunch of custom woodshop and metalshop scaled figures (lathe, mill, tube bender, etc.), moving everything around, rotating, etc. is very easy. Only downside is cost.... here's a snapshot of some ideas I'm toying with for a 40x60 lower level.

Any chance you'd mind making those image public? (Yes, I'm THAT much into reusing code.) :D Can/will send email address if you don't want to make them generally available.

Thanks and that's a GREAT idea.

Darren: I'd be happy to email you my Visio 2003 shop library.... but of course you will need Visio 2003 to use it.

Hawkeye2: That is a great find ...Grizzly did a nice job on that garage/shop planning tool. Looks like you can even edit the size of the shapes.

Not quite a Visio guru but I've had/used it since well before Microsoft bought it. ;) I'll PM you my email address.
Thanks!
