I still have a huge pair of Cerwin Vega's in the house (from my school days). My wife is still trying to get them out of the house, but I have been able to keep them right beside the TV. At least until next year when I start building my new shop.

But currently in my barn, I have my grandfather's old Realistic receiver (man they made some pretty good stuff back in the 70's) and a pair of Cerwin Vega's I got at a Church sidewalk sale for $5!!! I just happened to be driving by and saw them. At any account, the picture isn't very good, but if you look closely, you can see the speakers in the open doorway. I have them on old barn door hinges. When I am working in the Barn they point inward towards the workbench. And when I am outside, I just swing them around and point them out. Good thing I get along with my neighbours!!!

Here's my setup, The stereo cabinet was an old fruit box from Morning Star
and at the last minute I decide to trim them out to match the TV

Here's mine. Looks like a toolbox. Made by snap on. The top drops down to match the sides and cover the radio part.

I just saw something cool earlier today on another thread. A GJ'er had mounted a Chevy grill on his garage wall and put speakers in the headlight holes.

Pretty simple...iPod connected to a Pyle amp connected to a speaker box.

Where do you guys get your tunes? internet ,phone ,serius, antenna , etc. I am so tired of these old halfass boom boxes. It seems that the good old stuff is not on craigslist. The new stuff looks strange to me .....like surround sound. I really want a good system . Not great but good and cd player also.

Under my main bench, I mounted a Mackie 406M powered mixer, 4 of the 6 inputs run to my network rack. One of these 4 goes to an RDL flat-pak mixer with 2 x 1/4 inch jacks wired in for my laptop. I have several ceiling speakers and paging horns around the shop, and 1 DJ speaker under the bench.

Also in the network rack is an 8 ohm/70V paging amplifier. Input 1 is paging for my phone systems. Input 2 comes from the line output of the powered mixer. A set of terminals on the amp go to a voice activated relay, so when I page it will mute the music being played. There are 2 8 ohm speakers and 1 70V speaker (sits on my desk as a monitor)

Sound has been a hobby of mine for quite a while, both installed systems and live sound.
