Is it ok to Place a sub panel at the top of the stairs landing?

Here's the situation, new gambrel style garage we are building with full second story. I'd like to place the sub-panel at the top of the stairs in the landing area. Front of the panel would be 44" from edge of landing, the wall for the panel would be 74" tall at the front. Roof slope is 29/12 with with 80" height for someone working at the panel.

I took some pictures of the area.

Electrical conduit from house comes in right below this area and moving the panel upstairs makes it easier to proved a clear work area.

What do you think? Does this placement meet code?

You should be fine clearance wise,if it was me I'd want a disconnect with easy access in case something ever happened on a lower level or outside of garage though.

I'd worry about heat with the panel being mounted directly against the roof sheathing if the roof gets direct sun exposure. Are you going to frame out a flat vertical wall to keep the panel off the roof sheathing?
