newbie here. We just purchased a 1948 house with a 19x21 garage. I would prefer a bigger space, but I'm thinking I might just need to convert it to my shop. Currently it is uninsulated with no heating/cooling. The house has a 200 amp panel. All electric, on a well. Single user shop (most of the time). I am thinking of insulating the garage and making it climate/humidity controlled. Seems like the garage electrical needs would be 1. 220 for split air unit, 2. 220 for 6.5HP compressor, 3. 220 pigtail for table saw or jointer/planer, 4. 2 20 amp circuits for tools like grinder, 110 welder, cut off saw, 5. 15 amp for lights/garage doors, 6. 15 amp for ceiling mounted dust collector. That sound about right? If so, would I just run a line to put a sub panel in the garage? If so, how many amps/slots? The house is currently 1700sqft. I suspect we'll put a master addition on that might make it 2500sqft. I'm assuming the 200 amp panel is sufficient for all of this. Welcome any thoughts. I'll have more questions, but this would be a helpful start. Thank you.
