Garage Sweeper?

By the time I sweep all the mud out of my 48' X 80' garage my old bones are hurtin'. I no sooner get it clean and it's time to roll another muddy tractor or 4X4 in for work.

So, I'm looking for (cheap) ideas. I'd even go for a pedal powered sweeper of some sort. The old bones just don't like walking on concrete.

Put one of those rotary sweeper brushes on a snow blower. Either bag or block off the outlet. You can reverse the auger shaft by fliping it over.

Snow Blower: "Flip the auger over"? Wouldn't it still turn the same way? And I'd still have to walk.

Oreck: Still have to walk.

IRobot: I don't think it would handle big clumps of mud and would fill up in a few feet.

Anything I have to walk behind is out. Otherwise I might *** well just keep walking back and forth, which adds up to about a half mile. Maybe I'll have to mount a broom to an old bicycle. I don't mind the exercise it's just the arthritis.

here is an Idea, Lean too next to shop and turn it into a wash bay, so there clean before you park them in the garage.??? would save alot of clean up.

They make brooms that attach to the forks of a forklift. You could probably adapt one to a tractor or a riding mower.

Find an old building closing down.

Hose + squeegee or better yet, pressure washer on low. Add using the pressure washer to thoroughly wash vehicles outside before they come in, and it will be much easier.

Actually, I do pretty well with hiring local kids.
And you never know when you might ignite some “work with my hands” interest.
One of my former goth type, demolition hires, is now a dealer tech.
I don’t know if I would want him marrying my daughter just yet, but his life is on a different track than it was.
