Garage Tiles for Basement Floor?

Due to the age of the home we're moving into, I'm pretty sure the 9x9 basement tiles have asbestos, and so I'd like to put a floor over it.

I plan to order RaceDeck for the garage, but found Modutile which offers tiles explicitly maarketed as for basement use. They're quite a bit cheaper too, at $2 per square foot.

So... any reason not to go with this style of tile and company?

And what's a good vapor barrier? Would AirGuard work?

I'll have a workbench or three in the basement, plus shelving racks and other storage constructs, so the floor has to be heavy duty but not as tough as garage flooring.

I have the cheap plastic tiles from either Lowes or HD in my laundry room. They are nice to have.

My father put down VCT in the basement work room and laundry room, been there for years and still look great....

12"x12" like .79 each any color you want...

Asbestos is only dangerous if it is floating around as dust. As long as you don't sand or grind those tiles, you are OK.

If you wish to cover them, have fun choosing.

I know, but I'm worried about chipping or breaking them. So I figured encapsulation with a vapor barrier + floating 12x12 tiles on top should give me peace of mind and a more durable surface.
