Garage to lock up

Had my door installed a few days ago and now at the lock up stage. Still lots to do but at least I can start putting stuff in there. A couple of pictures.

Asphalt and concrete got removed during excavation. A new apron will be paved soon.

Good looking place! I'm guessing that you have a back lane type access & the garage is at the rear of your backyard. My first place had that set up & I loved it. I would love to see the inside once you get it finished.

Can you pease tell my how you did the apron exactly? I need to do exactly now that I repoured on top of my old slab.

I filled the void to 2 inches below the top of the slab and the old asphalt with crushed rock. The paving guy spread a sealant or glue around the edges of the old asphalt. Then they filled in with hot asphalt, sloped it to the lane and tamped it down. Some of the old asphalt was higher than other parts in some places but it all filled in nicely.

Paving contractor quoted me $1K just for an apron. Basically no-bid it I think since he wanted to do the whole driveway with a new apron for $4K.
Was sort of hoping you did it yourself for very little money, I guess

My paving guy quoted me $1000 but I had bought gravel and sand from his cousin's excavating company so he gave me a discount. It was worth it. They were quick and experienced. I don't know how you would go about doing it yourself because of transporting the hot asphalt. I'm not sure if they deliver like concrete.
