I've decided to get my garage, workbench more organized and kicked the truck outside to build up a workshop. I do rent so nothing is really installed permanently. Feel free to make suggestions for a layout I want to build another workbench and some storage. I just bought a table saw and will be getting a router here soon as well.
Here is my workbench when I was about to paint my shotgun. Very unorganized crammed full of hardware and tools

Here is the bench moved from the back wall to the sidewall. Added the backboard to hang stuff, some wrenches, a light, a very old computer, and redid the top shelf mount.

More tools organized

Rest of the garage from left to right

Paper towel holder added and some red hardware bins added.

And my stopping point today after the table saw was set up

A bit more organized with the wives car pulled in and new light over the workbench

Got shelving on the right side of the garage and the bicycles hung up to the right of that.

Added a blackboard moved the couch out that was to the right but I need to build a place to put all my lumber. Mostly just final touches now. I will probably add another bench that my table saw will fit into and Im getting an actual toolbox for my birthday.

And thats it for now! Its come a long way considering.

Wow a lot has changed! Moved to a new house and implemented the work bench and tools on the wall at the new location. At night we pull both the cars in so I use the far long wall as workspace. For lighting I have four T8 fixtures with two four foot LED bulbs each plus five regular lights towards the front of the garage.

Started out with no insulation and it was looking pretty ugly. These cabinets were kind of ugly too and too big and bulky for the space Im working with so out they went. They sat at the curb for five minutes and they were gone! Guess I should have put a price tag instead of free but glad someone else can use them.

I have the air compressor and shop vac hooked up to switches under the old reliable workbench from the old house. Got a twenty foot long shop vac hose and ran compressed air from under the bench to the front of the garage. The red Craftsman box was my Grandpa's. Here is a little better pic of my lighting.

Looks good. It looks like you've got more functional workbench area now than where you started. Is your garage heated? or just insulated at this point? What did you use for your ceiling sheathing?

After insulation it was 63 degrees in the garage and 35 degrees outside the other morning. Garage is unheated. Ceiling is drywall on 2x4s. Any way I can get the thread title changed to just Garage cleanup?

Next project will be mounting the bench grinder that was also my grandfathers. I am thinking maybe a temporary mount.

Well I got a new toy and moved a cabinet to the barn and a workbench sideways to fit it in.
I'm not leaving this beauty outside!
