Are you blowing in insulation on the ceiling?

Wow, great progress. That working upside down (so to speak) on sheet rock has got to be hard on the body! I like that lifting tool. Did you buy that?

Floor................

I've decided to attempt it myself. somebody posted info on the Sherwin Williams stuff that looks a little more durable than that which Benjamin Moore sells. So for I'm opting for the former.

Lighting................

I'll be hanging some cold temp 8' fluorescent lights. I'm thinkin maybe 6 of them. I forgot the term for them but my cousin mentioned them to me. And two retractable lights. Gloss white paint on walls and ceilings as well.

Insulation. .....................

I will have batts between the rafters with the kraft vapor barrier. Then on top of that rolls of blanket insulation,with out the kraft vapor barrier, running in the opposite direction. I'll have plenty of room for shelves/storage up there.

Sheetrock Lift.....................

I rented that lift which goes up to about 15' for $29 a day. I have however seen them for sale for about $500 to $600.

You're probably thinking of T8 or T5 lights.

I guess your ceiling construction makes it hard to install the insulation prior to installing the sheetrock, eh?

Thanks for the reply on the lift. Looks like that's the only way to fly when doing that sort of work. Probably well worth the money to rent one. How many days do you think you'll end up renting it for?

No..........I could have put the insulation up prior to the sheetrock but I think my Electrician (my Cousin) would prefer not to be moving all of the insulation around in an effort to run the electrical up there.

I rented the lift on Saturday morning thinking it would take Saturday and then part of Sunday. It only took us 6 hours to hang the sheetrock on the ceiling.

I have to get sheetrock on the front side of the garage before the garage doors are installed for the tracks also, that will go a little slower as I have to cut the sheets around the doors and such.

But.........before I can hang sheetrock on the front side I need to run my electrical through it for the outside lights and wall switch.

Wow, 6 hours. That's pretty quick. Hardly enough time to crack a few beers open.

Those lifts are a life saver. You can pop up a lot of rock on a ceiling in a short hurry. But I guess you now know that.

Look really nice. Wish I could trade.
