Garage Utility sink question

Hi everyone, newer member here. I would like to add a utility sink to my new attached garage. It's a pretty easy task with the plumbing layout. My only issue is the drain. The closest spot to drain the sink would be into the laundry basin pump for my washer / basement utility sink. It then gets pumped to my septic. Has anyone ever seen or installed some type of filter in a 1.5" drain? I'm worried about any grit or debris from the garage sink going right into the laundry pump.

In soils lab (long ago) the sinks had a large trap almost like a catch basin. They may have even been called soil trap.
I'd try to filter out the bulk before it gets to the drain first, though.

Probably too obvious, but start with one of those drop-in screens for the sink drain.

For sure, that was my plan. I typically use the hand soap with grit in it if I'm working on the cars, that was my main concern.

you don't want a filter as they will block flow. you want a sediment trap .
look on google for clay traps used for potters .

Since you are putting it into your septic, you might want to use (if you aren't already) Concentrated Magic for cleaning your hands.
Not only is it the best hand cleaner out there, it's all natural (walnuts, citrus and some other stuff) and it biodegrades.

If you are using soap with grit on a regular basis, make sure to use plenty of water to flush it away. . . Preferably hot water.

Wouldn't hurt to dump a 5 gallon bucket of hot water down the drain occasionally too.
