Garage wall refurb

My house was built in the 70s and it is time to refinish the original garage walls. They were junk fiberboard and had many holes throughout. I pulled the first wall out and cleaned up and I've got a quick question.
Should I add fireblocking to these walls or is that a waste of time? I have r13 leftover from my shop project and plan on putting that in and covering the walls with OSB.
Any other suggestions while I have this apart?
Thanks,
Alex

When I did this project a few years ago I caulked every joint from the inside and filled the walls with rockwool insulation. It made a huge difference in sound transmission and temperature control for that end of the house, especially the ceiling which is the floor of the bedroom above. Rockwool won't burn and I used the fire rated 5/8" sheetrock per code for my area so fire resistance is hugely improved.

Run wiring now for additional lighting, speakers, tv, cable, internet, additional outlets, etc. for a clean look when it is finished.

Fireblocking + osb = more fuel.

Roxul + Type X = more flame resistant. Check for Type C which is even more fire resistant especially on the ceiling.

Any insulation is better than none.

This is a perfect time to add the wiring that somebody else left out when they built that garage.

Good call about code. I blanked on that and I may not be able to use OSB here. I went straight to thinking about getting rid of the flimsy fiberboard for something more rigid.
