I plan on building a garage with a loft, any sites with plans?

I need to do lots of research on kits, materials etc.

Long term may dictate that I live in the Loft/apt while my new home is being built.

Yes, I plan to be here a while.

What is the concern you have about this? Does the property value you down or up because of this?

After looking into property prices and what it would take to built what I wanted, I realized I was looking at about a 120ish investment that I would have to market essentially as a piece of land with a detached garage already built for whatever house someone wants to build. I figured that the odds of finding someone just like me that needed the same thing would be unlikely, and that the odds of finding someone who would pay 120-130k just for a chunk of land with a garage on it would be few and far between.

Ahh! I was thinking it was going to be an addition to his existing house, before he builds his house:wtf:. Does that make sense:headscrat? I guess his house would be the addition really.

that's basically what i'm saying, but not actually attached to some future building. it would just be a visitors apartment/man cave/ detached 2/3/4 car garage.

I just don't see someone finding it as valuable as it would cost me to build. I'm young (and dumb) and probably won't be in the same place for 5 years for the next 15....so I started looking for something I could at least get my money back out of.

I got my original plans here, lots of designs with lofts. After the zoning commission was finished with me, headroom was less than I hoped for but living with it into year 2 I'm pretty pleased. My one regret is that the ridge is engineered wood instead of steel: an I beam would've allowed a hoist trolley to lift stuff up to loft level...
