So I found this site a few months ago when I began exploring options for a garage "makeover". I had open Edsal shelving along the back wall and **** stacked up in every corner...kid's toys, my tools, wife's kitchen stuff, etc...I decided to go with the Gladiator line cabinets so from about November thru March, I'd buy a cabinet if it were on sale at Home Depot, Lowes, or Sears...then assemble and store it away in my basement for my Spring project.
As I got closer to starting, I began poking around at foor tiles...I looked at the Gladiator line, then realized that RaceDeck makes the Gladiator tile as well as their own for close to half the price...After looking at several manufacturers, I narrowed it down to RaceDeck and GarageDeck (private label, same manufacturer)...I ultimately decided that for my 300 sq ft 1 car garage, I'd go with GarageDeck at $2.15 per tile versus $2.89/tile for the RaceDeck.
After about a week of clearing out, cleaning, and painting, I was ready to lay the tiles down. It took me and a friend about 1.5 hours to complete the flooring and I thought it was a great touch to the garage I'd envisioned. It was super easy to assemble, the Company was a pleasure to deal with and the product looks great....
My only issue was...I didn't realize the gaps would be as great as they came to be...I spoke with Jennifer at SnapLock and she checked in with Jorgen (owner) and they agreed that this gap appears to be spec and tiles will expand come summertime. I'm okay with it, but it just wasn't what I expected becuase every picture out there shows tiles tight with almost no gap...We'll see what it looks like come summertime....Anyhow, overall, I was very please with the outcome and here are a couple of pictures ...partly to show off the final result, and also to show others what to expect with GarageDeck's tiles gaps upon install...thanks!
By the way...first post
...sorry so long winded
