Hi Guys,

For my first post I am wondering how many other guys are like me and just enjoy garages and workshops no matter what condition they are in. I find the ones that are a total mess more interesting because you never know what you could find in there. I know I am weird.

A messy garage is annoying in my book, I can`t wait till the remodel is done ! I can`t find anything and have wasted tons of time looking for my hammer, which I left on my 8 foot ladder. Don`t ask how I found it there because I can`t remember. :headscrat

The organized shops are more my style, used but tidy.

I'm with you! I remember looking at closed garages as a kid and dreaming that a very old car is in need of rescue in there!

I firmly believe I will find something of use in every garage I visit. It doesn't matter if is a garage sale or someone's garge on here. I get something out of it almost all the time. Even a mental smile is a payoff for seeing something cool!

Everybody's creative personality is different. You've got to find the setting that works best for the stuff you want to do.

Mine goes from messy to clean and back again on very short cycles.

Mine goes to both extremes.....messy while I have a project going on...but then I enjoy cleaning up when done....

Overall, I work better when it's somewhat clean....

what? we hate garages around these parts..... lol jk jk jk

I personally have to have an immaculately organized tool box, but the garage itself is a different story most of the time. nothing annoys me more than not being able to find a tool... and super clean garages annoy me because it makes me afraid to get it dirty while working... I know, I don't get it either...

There ya go. To each his own. It's a good thing I live alone. My garage is neater than my house. I just vacuumed my garage out yesterday, but my house has **** spewed all over the place and hasn't been cleaned in a while. :shocking: I have a (DIRECTV) hookup, fridge, laptop computer and I have thought about snuggling up and playing- kissy face/ huggy bear with my cars and sleeping out there at night. The other day I was checking out some carpeting to slide under my Vette and my new Impala SS to keep their wittle tootsies warm on the pavement. By next summer I should have the walls studded up and finished with siding and it will definitely be a neat man cave.

LOL. I suppose I'm sort of a garage appreciator ****. I like the old timey style ones that are just more form and function type shops, as well as modern ones that have finshed floors and look like a showplace and everything in between.

However, the ones that have a door stuck half way down and are packed full of garbage and junk drive me insane. I want to go up to the owner and drag them out there by the ear and say, " FIX IT!!!!".

As long as that "total mess" is comprised of cars and mechanics tools then I agree. Other household stuff like baby carriages etc pisses me off.

I hate working in a pigpen, set something down and it disappears, I have a lot of stuff and if I don't keep it picked up it gets frustrating and unmanageable quickly.
