I just joined ths forum, and love it! Here is a pic from March 2007, when I was restoring my 64 Stingray in my little one car garage. Click here to see what it looks like all finished. A garage is a place where you work until the late hours, installing a cam, or painting your hot rod...not a place to store folding chairs, boxes of tax returns and pink flamingos. A real garage has a nice big tool box, a hydraulic jack, and a box or two from your favorite mail order parts supplier.

Man, I am lovin' this thread!!

I wish my so-called single car garage was up to snuff so that I could post without embarrassment. I can work in my garage, or I can put my '81 Parisienne in the garage, but it's an either/or sort of thing.

You guys have amazing spaces. Keep the photos coming!!

Thanks for the compliments. My hope is to have my garage look as good and function as well as the cars I park in it.

Three different bug lovers - three different continents!!

Make that 4 bug lovers. This one also in the US. One day I'll (re)own a '67. Wish I'd never sold mine...that was, oh, about 40 years ago.

Gunfighter, Buzz Lightyear...what year are yours. I'm guessing 67 for Gunfighter (but I can't tell if the hood in the background has a squared off or rounded nose) and 62 for Buzz.

I really enjoy seeing what people are doing to their garages. I thought it was just me wanting to make a garage pretty...guess not.

I'm in Baton Rouge BTD. Are you a member of Houston Air Coolers by any chance?
My car is a 65 by the way. Nice to see some vintage VW's along with all the Muscle posted here.

Mine's a US spec '57 oval

My garage is a bit of a bomb site at the moment as we're building an extension on the house - though not the garage :(

and it's full of Mk2 Golf at the moment

Gunfighter....Houston Air Coolers? Didn't know of them. I'll have to look them up. Baton Rouge huh. I learned to eat mud bugs at Ralph and Cacoos back in '89. Great town.

Buzz...Very nice vehicle. I should have recognized the turn signals. I was a VW mechanic back in the late '60's/early '70's and I seem to remember one customer's bug that had flip-out turn indicators in the door post...way cool.

Keep 'em running guys. These old bugs need to be preserved. They are truly milestones in the history of the automobile.

Now I have to go sweep out my garage!
