We're building a new home and would like to ask for some flooring advice from the forum, please.
I was nearly sold on epoxy for the garage floor, but came across GarageTrac and am thinking that may be the way to go if I can afford it. Does anybody have experience with it? How does it hold up? The best price I've been able to get is $1.98/sq ft with free shipping from Big Floors (actually a better price than I was able to get directly from RaceDeck) - even though I'm sure that's a good price it's still just above my budget so I want to be absolutely sure it'd be worth it (if the wife approves the extra funding).
If anybody has an epoxy they love (in my price range) I'd like to consider that too. I've had a bad experience with epoxy in my current house, partly my fault (didn't realize a topcoat is pretty much mandatory) and partly not (I surface prepped the heck out of the floor before applying it). So I'm a bit nervous about spending a lot on epoxy and then having the same problem, and can't afford to have a professional install it for me (new house has a 3 car garage).
I apologize if this topic seems like it's covered in the sticky, I went through it and there were quite a few broken links in the thread. I think that thread was started in 2005 so hopefully I'm not out of line in asking for help.
