I seem to find yard tools at the dump all the time. Last week while at the dump I'm helping my younger brother move the trash out of my truck and thought, "should have brought a metal rake or broom". I look over into the pile next to ours and low and behold a metal rake head. Handle broken in half. We used said rake and I noticed after half a sticker on the handle proudly said "Made in the USA" so I saved it thinking I'd replace the handle. I did this a year ago at the same place with a plastic rake and broken handle.
So here's the deal on the sticker it also said "Lifetime Warranty" so I looked up the company online and found out they sell them at Lowe's. I went to Lowe's and walked out with a new metal rake from the same company with a new 25 yr. warranty. I'm pretty happy with that!
Bonus too that plastic rake from the year before also made by same company and Lowe's replaced it as well no problem!.
