Hi guys,
I had to fence the garden to keep the deer out so gates were needed. I stumbled around the local ACE store and came up with (what I think) a good plan to make weather proof hinges. I used aluminum bar stock, nylon washers, nylon toilet tank bolts, and 5/16" all thread rod. The lower halves are threaded to set clearance which is maintained with jam nuts. They are as smooth as a baby's bottom and simple. I built 3 man gates, one of which is built into the 8'x10' tractor gate. I hinged the tractor gate at the top to swing up horizontally. All the gate frames are EMT conduit.

The nylon washers should be good for a very long time....
I would be a little leery of the bolts... If you need to replace the them, go to brass or stainless steel.... They then should outlast the rest of your fence....
