I dont see the need to replace both. It's not like you're running the thing at 60MPH.
Are they tube or tubelss. If tubeless will putting a tube in help. The seal on my Cub broke ONCE and they both got tubes in them now. Neve had an issue since.

If it's a front tire on a John Deere, it may not be bad, unless of course the sidewalls are cracked or the tire's bald. JD's will leak. They need to have a silicone sealer around the bead before seating them so they maintain the air pressure.

On a lawn tractor? pfft, just do the one that's bald. Then try to figure out WHY one went bald before the other. turf tires on turf oughta last just about forever.

As long as the new tire is essentially the same size as the remaining tire, there is no need to replace both front tires on a tractor simultaneously. Many older farm tractors are operated for years with an original style 3-rib tire on one front wheel and a similar size car tire on the other. Only time you can notice a difference is if you drive on a paved surface and even then tractor speeds are so slow it really has no significant impact.

I have a garden tractor we've modified to use as an aircraft tug, pull our plane from the hangar and to put it away. We only replace a tire if it really needs it, and only the bad tire. Over the past few years, we've had problems with one or the other wheel/tire leaking air. So, we've gradually put tubes in each of the four as they needed it. No more leaks. These things go slowly, four matched tires makes zero difference.
