Gargoyles?

Have three bolts I ran thru the wall above my garage door as I made sure the mechanism was overbuilt to secure the opener. So we were looking at the large washers, nuts, and threaded projections thinking about how to dress these up and my wife said "Gargoyles"! Anyone have any images or design ideas for appropriate garage gargoyles? Surely there is something appropriate with a "gear head" theme...

You do realize that the opener pushes on the header, right? Bolts thru to the outside are way more then overkill. Why not add a light fixture?

I have a hanger style door. The rod for the springs/opener/cones has to support the full weight of the door which is definitely downward and essentially pulling it out of the inside wall. The opener is a side mounted unit which also tries to force the bar away from the wall when opening the garage door. Already have motion activated lights at the corner which seem adequate and if I had lights hanging down in front of the door the door would hit them as it raises up.

But thinking about it, using some of the piston head type sculptures with LED lights inside would be kind of cool...

I bought this piston head guy from a seller on Etsy. He can make anything you want. Came out pretty cool

I like the gargoyle idea but have no suggestions.

Google "Masonry Stars" and "Decorative Masonry Washers" for more traditional solutions.
