Gas and electric in same trench

I am using a backhoe with a 24" bucket to dig a trench for gas and electric. I have seen where they would like a minimum of 12" inches of separation between the two sources at 18" to 24" deep. I don't mind going a little deeper to have a little more separation between the two but I am curious if putting one deeper than the other would have any benefit for access later?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and suggestions.
