Hello looking at a gas operated 30 gallon Jenny compressor. I don't have the 220 electric to operate one with enough CFM s so I'm looking to go with gas engine.
Before I go thru with the deal what if anything should I look at or check on the unit. What would be a good price for this used unit ? The seller states it s several years old. Thanks for any assistance.

I have a Honda powered Emglo (same as Jenny) compressor. It puts out about 15.5 cfm at 175 psi. I got lucky and found one in excellent condition for about $375. Most that I had looked at were $600-800 or more and in much worse condition. My compressor was about $2400 new. I bought it from a guy in the duct cleaning business where they are very popular.

My shop would need a $$$ wiring upgrade to use an equivalent electric compressor and since I rarely use air tools it was a no-brainer for me. I needed something to run a newly acquired blast cabinet which it easily does. It's portability along with high volume and pressure has come in handy on occasion. I agree with sberry, if you use air tools often and it is for shop air a gas compressor won't be the best option.
