Gas Fireplace Noise

A friend installed a 54" gas fireplace in their living room during the new construction.
The unit and remote control work well. Their complaint is the noise the fireplace makes while in operation. The noise is the gas burning, kind of a hissing. It sounds just like my old Coleman camping stove when in operation.
His wife says it's too noisy, and ruins the romantic aviance and atmosphere of the room.

Is there any way to quiet down the unit? It sits behind a glass panel and otherwise works as intended.

Google pic, but similar.

Is there a showroom local that has them so he can go and compare ? What does the manufacturer say ? Usually gas flame is virtually silent. Does it have a blower motor that might be making the noise ?

Did they use a 2 psi gas system and there is a regulator next to the gas valve to drop the pressure to 7” (NG) or 11” (LPG)?

It would look like this and would make a soft hiss

If the gas hiss check the pippings and confirm if the btu of the fireplace is Matching the gas supply line either at the black pipe or the flex line. There is a chart you can google and confirm. All gas appliance are rated at btu, gas pipping also btu

Example case when I converted to gas heating the original pipping of 3/4 will whistle when both the water heater and heat is on at the same time. Fix was upgraded to bigger btu meter and 1.25 or 1.5 in pipe.

Thanks, Dog. It does run on LPG. I'll have him confirm the BTU to gas line ratio. The one on display at the store was silent. He's had more than a few subcontractor workmanship issues he's run across, but mostly electrical and plumbing. It wouldn't surprise me if the black pipe guys took some shortcuts too. If the black pipe is correct, can the wrong flex pipe size cause this? They had some callback issues with the flex pipe install being located in the wrong location on the new construction, and it had to be rerouted.
The blowing fan is high quality and virtually silent.

I am not 100% about lpg appliances. I would check at least with the manual or the manufacture they are usually helpful. If anything they should be able to confirm you the size of pipes need for their appliances.

I would back up the conversation with the dealer with a call to the manuf tech line. They will have seen this before. As it is LP a call to have a tech come out from the gas supplier to confirm gas pressures, orifice size etc would be a good idea. The flexible gas connectors can definitely cause resonance. I have seen that mostly on connections to tankless water heaters (high btu) but, sure, it can happen on smaller stuff too.
