Gas Heater Clearance

I'm about to install a Reznor F50 gas heater in my barn to heat up the downstairs. Since I need to run exhaust piping for the gas heater to the outside of the barn (which has two dormers and a gambrel roof) I would like to know what rear clearance this unit really needs. The manual says 2 feet for "service purposes only" but that will cause an issue with running the pipe behind the wall on the second floor and then out through the roof. Since the gambrel roofing starts right above the gutters over the first floor I would like to run the exhaust higher than the gutters rather than through the vinyl siding. Any ideas?

From a heating and Air tech/installer/owner . The reason for the 2' clearance is so it can be serviced and repaired . I cant count the number of times I have been extremely pissed ( usually due to a homeowner/contractor ) who built a wall or whatever less than 2' from the service side of a furnace . On residential furnaces it is code to have 2' of unobstructed space in front of a furnace for service . I would think you could come out of the unit and go back 2' with the flue before turning up if thats what you need .

I set the rear clearance at 26 inches so there is room should a tech need to get involved. Thanks for the info and Happy Holidays!
