I have a Karcher 2500 PSI with a Honda 5.5hp engine that is leaking oil out of the pump. Has anyone had any luck replacing the pump from sellers on ebay?
I found this pump on ebay that seems to be a good price.
Not sure about the quality.
Can't seem to find a rebuild kit for this model.

Randy - the aluminum in the pump will die from electrolysis over time. They generally need to be replaced. Some of the manufacturers have kits for the unloaders and pressure regulators but it is about the same price to replace the pump. I don't usually buy replacement pumps from Ebay. Find the manual for your unit online, get the part number for the pump off it and Google that number. There will be direct replacements you can find online. Amazon even has some as reasonable prices. There are many different style pumps so buy it from someone who will take it back or swap it if you get the wrong style.

I replaced a pump on my Troy-bilt model with a briggs motor. I found the OEM pump part number and put it into amazon and found something that said it was compatible. I'd imagine the sellers on Ebay and Amazon are the same people. Get someplace that will honor a return if it is wrong.

My pump did not look exactly the same, and I did have to shim it with a washer under each mounting point (Which was mentioned in some of the Amazon reviews) so I was prepared for it. Otherwise, works as new, satisfied, will probably have to do it again someday!

I replaced my pump on mine with one of those pumps off a ebay and have had no problems.
I wouldn't be afraid to buy that pump from that guy on ebay, he's sold 362 of them and he has 99.3 % feed back and he's been on ebay since 2003.......he's not going any where......I always look at those things before I buy.

I would replace the factory fill gear oil with good fluid. All else is fine.

My friend who sells new pressure cleaners and repairs 'em, says that the made in Italy General pumps are good ones. They have kits available for replacing wear components.

I went ahead and ordered the pump from ebay. Looks like it will bolt up fine, but need to get shorter cap screws.
I took apart the old pump and found a broken spring on one of the valves. I may try and find parts to repair it for a backup.
