The lid of my truck-bed tool box is getting droopy. I've pulled one of the gas shocks/springs, but need help de-ciphering it. Does the 80# mean it's rated for 80 pounds?

It's a Stabilus Lift-O-Mat and I can't find the exact match, using 4253TW, which is printed on the side. But maybe that's not the part number.

It's 9-7/8ths long, eye to eye, extended, and the tube is 6" long. I can't compress it by hand to see it's compressed length. Its on my Delta truck-bed toolbox. Can anybody help me out?

The last time I had to replace those I went to NAPA and they had a good selection and were helpful in getting the right one's.

McMaster and it's done. (you do need to have the lengths available though)

Good place to go for those kind of struts is a place that sells camper shells for pickups. It is hit and miss with auto parts stores.
