Gas Struts for NewAge Cabinets

My gas struts on my cabinets are finished. Cabinet are just over four years old and NewAge cannot help me. I am very disappointed, supposed to have a ten year warranty on the cabinets but since they discontinued my model, they say they have no parts. Very poor in my mind. I would not trust this vendor, but that is another story.
Anyhow I am looking for replacement struts, can anyone direct me where i can get these? I find 10" long ones all over but these are shorter, about 8.5" overall lenght.
Any suggestions where I might find some would be appreciated

Take a sample strut to an auto parts store, they may be able to match it to a readily available replacement.

i once found the very expensive gas strut on an industrial balancing machine directly interchanged with a VW car part.

I've matched several at the local auto parts store.

The 130N is 29lbs. That seems really strong for such a short lift support. Strongarm is the most common brand I've seen. Here is a link if you want to try to look it up.

Wow, thanks for the suggestions, I will try the auto stores right away and check out those other leads. And for the bill , well I'm done with Newage, this has been a battle, at first they offered $75 to find replacements, then they tell me they can't process the $75 because the original bill wasn't in their system anymore (after 4 yrs) , I have all the original invoice and shipping documents, then they try and give me some slat wall that don't even fit with my model cabinet, so I finally told them to go you know where and they lost a customer and a few more if I can help it.

There are definitely strut sellers. I tried a few for my garage attic door, but I was starting from scratch. You might have PN you can chase. At a minimum you have length.

Send them a link to this thread...I was considering doing a room with them when I finish the basement, if they can't stand by their warranty I'll find something else. They'll lose a lot more business than sourcing you replacements or new cabinets even.

Pre Covid, I had good luck with customer service shortly after buying when cabinets showed up damaged. They sent a couple of new lockers and let me keep the damaged ones. But I have not had any problems since so I have not attempted any warranty claims.

I think the Pro are good cabinets. But there are no more alternatives in the same price range. Like Husky. Not sure if they are as good, worse or better, but they look comparable on paper and I would consider them today.

That's a good idea, I was also going to try their garage floor, got the samples in last fall, now no way I'll find something else.

I have the Blue Pro series as well and went thru the same thing with Newage, they couldnt tell me or send me a strut. They did help my find some online though. I bought these and have replaced 3 of them so far and they work fine.

If they can’t tell you and need to resort to Amazon, new age is truly outsourcing and is really just a periodic order placer to the factory in China that it buys from.

I looked at these, how is the lenght of these compared to your originals, these come in around 10" mine are 8" fully extended. Maybe I'm reading too much into this. Did you have to move the ball studs?

For others these do not fit the Performance Plus cabinets, they are too long.

Im not sure if the Performance plus are different than the pro ones that I have but I remember compressing them to put them on. Try doing that and see if they work. I think I used some long clamps to hold them compressed enough to get in place.

Yes I had to compress them also with a clamp, but with mine they were too long when you shut the door, so the compressed lenght was too long, they would not close the door completely. No problem, I returned them to Amazon, and I ordered a set from liftsupportsdepot.com that are 7.5" long extended and 5.25" when compressed. That I believe should fit.

liftsupportsdepot is the best bet. I replaced some janky lift supports for a daybed and everything worked out great by ordering replacements from them.

Just looked up some oddball struts for a work project. AS Raymond has a massive catalog, and you can order direct, or use the P/N to find elsewhere (Grainger & MSC carry some versions). You can narrow down by length, stroke, diameter etc. Might find what you need.

I did that to the internet company that destroyed my yard when running their cable line. The work was so **** that I rolled an ankle while putting the hose out to water my tree! The bill was reasonable time and materials.

I tried that and all they said is sorry we can't help because its discontinued. Not impressed with them at all.

I have the same problem, received the same response from NewAge. Did those Amazon struts mentioned above work okay?

I'm assuming you had to remove the threaded bolt studs from the old ones and installed them in the new supports?

I buy them on ebay regularly, usually between 10 and 20 bucks. A model number is super helpful.

I had the exact same problem. I purchased these on amazon and they work great. They have the screws on the end, so you just need to swap out the one side.

I had the exact same problem. I purchased these on amazon and they work great. They have the screws on the end, so you just need to swap out the one side.

Suspa is a great option.
I needed some struts for my ARE tonneau cover. I wanted something with a little more force. I contacted them and I received a quick reply with several options. I checked the part numbers on Amazon and bought them there. Worked out great.

I have the same strut problem that you had. Mine are the same size as yours: 8.75" in length. Were you able to fine replacement struts? I'm thinking of using 10" struts and drilling new holes on each side for the bottom connection to the cabinet. Your thoughts?
