Gas valve problems???

I have a Peerless 75 ha gas hanging furnace in my garage. I finally got everything fixed on it. Nee thermocouple and all. But now....you light the thermo couple pushing the knob and all and it lights. Let off knob and it remains lit. Been lit for 2 days no issue...not until I go to turn the knobe the rest of the way on for the furnace. Soon as you turn it the pilot is out everytime. And again it'll stay light long as you don't live the knob from the position it's in. When I turn it the last 1/8 turn past rhe pilot light lighting spot. Out it goes.. if anyone has advice I'd appreciate it

Is the thermocouple in the path of the flame, is the capillary tube free of any sharp bends or kinks? If yes then the gas valve could be bad.

either one of three things IMO.
1. new thermocouple isn't generating enough current to open the valve
2.the valve is bad
3.the connection where the thermocouple joins the valve is loose, dirty or something.

I don't think it's a thermocouple issue, as it's keeping the pilot circuit open. if it was failed, the pilot wouldn't lite
is the gas pressure adjusted properly in the gas valve?
are you sure you're turning the valve the right away and not shutting it off?
the supply gas valve(s) open all the way ?
when you say, finally got everything fixed on it, what was the original issue /what did you fix on it?

I'll check the 3. The pilot stays lit once I let off the knob if I just leave it in the pilot only spot. It's when I try to turn it the last little piece of rhe way to the gas on spot that it goes out. The pilot has been on now for 3 days straight. But again I have left the knob at the spot tou lite the pilot. I don't guess thermostat would play a role in this issue? What rope thermostat should I use byw

I took it down a year ago doing some work on roof and rafters. When I took it down I noticed alot of the wires were brittle so I took them off fo replace and rewire. Took them off a year ago and when I fo to out it up this year I remembered what I done. So I had to completely rewire it all.

Turning it clockwise on around to on. Pressure wise I am.not sure if it is or not??? How would I check it. I ask because rhat struck a nerve it seems to me like when I go to turn the valve on that it seems like it's cutting the gas off

No photo of the valve yet? We can all speculate, but it may be moot because we don’t know what kind of valve it is.

Pressure is checked outside on the second stage regulator with a sensitive guage or a manometer(water tube) and is measured in inches of water column. Propane is 10.5” of Water column and Nat gas is 7” of water column.

Your gas supplier can measure and adjust the regulator if required. We do it for free.

If it shows in the puc. I just noticed there are 2 terminals that come from the thermocouple location in the gas valve. Their wired together is that right?

Cobbler...I missed the words the first time in your post so I'm saying thank you now. Thank you. So much. IS so seldom I mess with gas furnace and equipments I tend to let it slip away. Anytime i am.asked or iver hear anyone with any type issue I know should be here I'm gonna send them this direction. Thanks to all the input. Especially Cobbler and to plumber338
