For gas, I just **** it up and buy TrueFuel... or whatever. Ethanol-Free. The cans are well sealed, so I don't mind it being in the well attached garage. One can fits in the mower's tank and the Honda powered Troy-Bilt mows a LOT of grass with a teeny bit of fuel. I might use a quart of fuel a summer.
That said, if you have already invested in a battery/tool "platform", the cordless mower makes some sense.... otherwise, not so much, since batteries add a ton to the sticker price.
I will say that I didn't like being the only kid on our block with a corded-electric lawn mower in the 1980's.... but that B&D mower was unstoppable. It had a "flip handle", so the mower just went back and forth as you mowed. It really did work a treat.
