Yeah its a shame about these lights, cause I actually like them. I'm wondering if I bump my wire up to the next larger size of wire ,and maybe put less lights on a run. I been meaning to post this in the lighting section to see if someone smarter than me had a idea on how to save them or fix them.
I'm sure in do time they will get these to be more reliable. Thanks for the visit.

I had a similar problem with some LED lights, they look the same as yours. They were on motion sensors and the dam things wouldn't go off. Ended with my money refunded and bought better elsewhere.

Hope your keeping away from the poison ivy.

It's a shame about the lights Herb, it makes it tough to see the cool slip roller, and tons of great license plates you scored. I wouldn't think the supply wires to the lights would matter much. I'd venture to say if they are the weak link then they would be frying. Good luck finding some good alternatives.

Since you like the Type 2's Here's a couple shots of my friend's Type 2 which his father bought new, and now my friend's just had it re-done. He used to pull a small trailer when his son was in Scouting, and they went on camporees. Obviously the van wasn't done to OEM, but it's functional and well-executed.

The shop that did it has a good reputation for the quality of their work, and the owner has a Tri-Power 427 Corvette that has won a best of show from GM's Dave McClellan. http://www.corvettemuseum.org/learn/about-corvette/corvette-hall-of-fame/dave-mclellan/ The paint on the Corvette is > 15 years-old, and he drives the car year-round, though it's not a 'daily-driver.'

Thanks Steve, its been awhile since I've just gone garage sale ing.I was on my way home from a Dr. appointment and one of the small towns I go thru was having a city wide sale. The first stop had some nice stuff but nothing I really needed, so I asked if they had some tags for sale. Well they didn't but knew someone then I just kept getting referals so it worked out very well.
So how are things going in your neck of the world? Hope all is well!

Hey JB, I see you been busy as usual. Got the slip roller at a farm auction, it seems to be missing one of the gears on the bottom roller. Hope to find someone that can make me a new one. I'm sure Andy could make one out of cast aluminum, but probably not last long
I've had lots of problems with the led lights, I bet 80% has failed. The company was exchanging them, then they just refunded my money on some. The problem with me being so slow to get things done, I haven't got the other half of the barn wired up yet, so I'm sure I'm going to have problems with them.

Hey Driftpin, thanks for visiting my spot. Love the type 2's. I wish mine were at least drivable, just need lots of... time/money.
Seems to be a lot of places in Florida to have work done for VW's, not so much in Kansas.

We're all good here, thanks for asking.
It's a bank holiday weekend, so three days off, we're having some good weather so out in the garden getting jobs done, before it starts to rain again.
The remote servo on the camper is stuck, lack of use most likely, I'm dropping it off at the mechanics tomorrow. It'll be stripped down and freed up, and collected later this week,ready to go.

I missed your post on Roundup (any 46% glyphosphate). I mix 8 oz to the gallon for a hand sprayer and only spray what I want to kill and have never killed anything I didn't want except maybe some grass. I've sprayed vineing poison ivy on a hickory with no ill effect to the tree. I don't think you could kill a 100 ft cottonwood if you tried.

well I need to see if maybe the rollers need turned down a smidge, they have a few lines on them. I don't know if that would leave marks on the metal that's being ran thru?

That really stinks about the lights, I used the same ones only 10w though for my in floor lights under the lift. Knock on wood they are still working. I don't usually go to car shows all that often. If I do it is because someone I know is helping to put it on or the rest of the family is out of town. We are having Draggin' Grand the Friday at 6 here in Ponca City so I'll probably have the cobra at that again. If you come down let me know I can take you for a little cruise.

Hello all, I'm still kicken. Keeping up with my favorite people on here but not much postin on my part.
I have some updating on my barn, finally got the west half of the floor poured during the winter. It was pretty damn cold outside. I helped a friend out that did my floor on the other side where I keep the hearst. Since he is a concrete contractor , he was short on work and money because of the cold. So he and his sons came over and helped clean out all my junk so they could get to the floor. He made me a fair bid to do the west half and another 20 X 30, and some sidewalks and approaches into the barn. I will get some pictures soon.
Anyway, I hope I still have this on your following favorites. Just not enough time to smell the rose's and pull weeds.

Well, I polished and waxed my Thunderbird, does that count?

I need to start posting in my thread again. Docs had to adjust some of my meds, and once I got acclimated to them I've sure felt better. I actually did some forward progress on things in my garage and took some pictures. Hopefully I'll keep moving forward.

well there you go, you got two of wanting to see you going again.Glad the new meds make you feel better. Nothing worse than wanting to go out to the shop to piddle around, and you just feel like you been hit by a truck. I can really relate to that. My problem is I feel like that more often than not. But sometimes I go out to my barn and just sit and just to listen to music and look around and think " man I need to do something" then I see all the stuff that needs to be done, it makes me tired so I go back to the house. Anyway been trying to at least work a couple of hours on something.

I have a question for any computer smart people. I bought a I pad about 6 months ago and I'm trying to get logged in to GJ. But when I go to put the password in, it denies me entry. I'm thinking its because it has a different IPO or number to it than the home computer has, so it thinks someone else is trying to use my user name and password. So how can I log into the GJ on both computers without creating another username?? Hello, anyone?

This may be a dumb question but have you logged out then on to GJ on your computer and verified the password you are using is correct? Other than that you have me stumped, you may have to use the app rather than the website also.

I had the same thing happen to me. I have two laptops, one for work one for home, and my Android phone, using Tapatalk (Ryan's mobile app for GJ). I was logging in correctly on both Windows laptops but couldn't get in on my mobile device. I reset my password to something simpler - I'm thinking one of the special characters in my password were gumming up the works on my mobile device. It all works on all devices now.

That's odd. Has it ever worked on the iPad? Are you using a browser or is there a forum app? Don't know about Apple, but there's an Android app for GJ.

Man its been HOT, try to go out early and work then go back in the house when it really gets HOT. I have a bunch of pictures, but they are on my Ipad. Still not smart enough to get it sync up to GJ. Maybe JB can help me on that too. Hes a smart guy, and I really appreciate his help on my hearse. Not too many people I would trust to work on my heaps.
I been trying to finish painting my walls in the barn, getting close to DONE. I will get pictures on the other camera that works in down loading on here.

For those that don't follow my thread as well, I reworked some of the brake problems he was having and rebuilt the exhaust after the down-pipe. I also tuned the carb a bit and adjusted the timing which were both things I couldn't do when it was here last. I took it for a test drive just before the above photo and the only real issue now is the brake shoes need some adjusting, (hopefully that is all it is) then we can take it for a longer test drive.
