I hope you guys can help. I operate our landfill and would like to be able to see when vehicles come through the gate. The budget is pretty tight. What could I use to keep an eye on the gate when out of the office such as when at the garbage pit? I’m hoping to find a system that allows a monitor in the wheel loader and one in the compactor. Landfill is on a 40 acre plot so not too far away.

If you want cheap, I'd just get a nanny cam with motion alerts. You could watch the feed with your phone, or set it to alert you if it sees motion.

You can cellular 5G with ReoLink. I use a tablet SIM card from T-Mobile that runs $20 a month. You can view it on any cell phone or computer.

I have Blink cameras - wireless (AA batteries) and connected to WI-FI. Notifies my cell phone and able to record and store video, also have 2 way voice communication if wanted. Costs me $10/ month for unlimited number of cameras

I have some older Blink cameras and they cost me nothing per month.

I don't think that "cheap" is in the cards unless there is wifi out there, otherwise you're on cellular which will have some monthly cost - real time monitoring anyway.

If you can sling wifi out to the gate (perhaps directional antenna) and the gate has power for a camera, your monitor can be your cell phone and many of these can do "push" notifications.. Cheapest cameras are probably by Wyze.
