My neighbor has built a gate in front of his garage 3rd bay shop extension. The first mounting wood portion is 12 inches off the ground. We are trying to find wheels but most are not this tall. Anyone know of one that would screw into wood with 12 inches being the lowest point on the wheel mount. See the pic below with the red line indicating the dimension needed. There are not other mount options such as pipe.

Check out replacement wheels for mobility scooters. There are lots of sizes and they are reasonable and able to handle loads. I converted the fixed rollers on my mower deck to swivel casters using wheels from a mobility scooter. That was three years ago, still works great.

You could also use a piece of 1.5” angle iron screwed/bolted to the gate corner to extend it down so any wheel would work.

Roller gate or swing gate?

Tough to say with the limited information and not photos, but for a rolled I would go with a 10" wheel, the width of the gate, sandwiched between plywood.

For a swing gate I'd use a 10" swivel castor.

What is the wheel rolling on?
