Gate motor and GFCI, does it need one?

Just installing my gate motor this weekend. It will be hard wired to the same circuit that my overhead garage door opener plugs into.
The gate motor is outside (in the elements), and is wired through conduit buried in the concrete from the garage.
I could put a GFCI breaker in the panel to cover the hard wired gate motor, and that would also incidentally cover the outlet for the overhead door opener.
Should I bother?

Yes. Actually code now requires all outlets in a garage to be GFCI protected so it would be beneficial to have the circuit GFCI protected to cover the garage door outlet.

I would use either a weatherproof GFCI outlet (or blank-faced GFCI if hardwired) out by the gate itself. I don't like the idea of GFCI-ing an entire circuit at the panel, just because that way anything will cause the whole circuit to trip.
