Hello,

posted here a while ago. basically have a 20' opening that i need a gate in.

I bought two 12' sections of gate on craigslist. Put one is as is. Other side I measured and somehow cut 3" short. One side has an up down retainer already. Is there some sort of bracket to lengthen one side of a gate?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Really need more information. Are the gates wood or steel? If steel 3 inches can be welded on, like simply a piece of light 3 inch angle iron. If wood, it can also be extended. A 2x4, treated, attached with flat steel bars bolted to gateshould do it. Also, can't you just move the post? Or you could attach the treated 2x4 to the post.

gate is chain link with 2" pipe frame (schedule 40).

yes I am the infamous guy on chevy talk. car is running, now saving up for other projects including my 71 eldorado film car.

thanks for the welding idea. that would work, now to find the piece of metal.

thanks again,

Adjust your hinges out 1.5" on each side to make up for the 3" that you screwed up on.
