GE Bench Grinders with one Wheel?

So, the other day at the flea market, I was staring a an old General Electric 1/3HP bench grinder, but only had one wheel? The other side looked... blank, it was weird looking! lol. At $5, I should of grabbed it, but would it be worth it? I also use my 60's CMan block grinder...

Are you sure it was actually a bench grinder or was it a motor that had a mandrel adapter/kit on it

Sounds like an old washing machine motor with a mandrel kit for either a wire wheel/cotton wheel set up; For $5.00 I would have bought the old motor.

haha, nah i was in and out in 20 minutes, had to get to work...

and that's what I'm thinking as well, I'll try to go back Saturday and see if he still has it. It had a tag on it that looked like the old B+D tags.

I just looked at the same thing at a flea market, only this one was a 1/2 horsepower. Just one wheel out the side. This one was twenty bucks, however. I was going to pick it up, but when i tested it on an outlet, it didn't work. Set it back down and walked away. I was pretty disappointed.
