GE load center question

My son just got a Millermatic 251 but does not have 50 amp outlet. Trying to surprise him while he is gone today and run a circuit off a mobile home pole setup he has near his carport.


It is a GE TSM420CSCU load center. Snapped a quick picture but not sure if I can add 220 breakers. Looks like just a single run of 115 breakers can be used.

Can anybody confirm?

You left off the left hand part of the label which is the most important part, the panel looks like it could support 2, 2-pole breakers but without more detail it's a guess. BTW how does one get 220, & 115 from a panel? 120,&240, you can get.

If it has 240V coming in, then those 4 breakers are 2 & 2 on each leg... Why doing that at the meter can instead of the main panel?

Here's a picture of what mine looks like below the meter, It's an eaton but I would assume similar to your GE. Hopefully that will help you visualize what it looks like inside.

115/230... I am old school and that is what always sticks in my head. Got that from my dad I guess.

The main panel located outside only has four slots and they are taken. It is an old mobile home setup. Next spring we are closing in the carport and will red on the electrical then.

Looks to me like there is 3 unused slots in the first picture? Part number indicates 200A main breaker with 4 additional spaces for circuits, probably has feed though lugs also. Or maybe I don't understand the problem.

looks like you have 3 available spaces but cant tell how they are bussed without taking dead front off.

Can you take dead front off then take a pic.

Also take a better pic of the label including the whole thing...

most likely that style of 200a will take up 4 spaces

It worked out perfectly. I was able to the slim ge breakers. Welder is ready to go.
