Gear grease in circular saw

What is a good sticky grease that I can use with helical gears in a circular saw case. If its not sticky I think it would fly out.

Home Depot sells Skill worm gear saw grease. It's liquidy and comes in a white tube.

The hitachi I just re-greased uses Moly grease... I just added some more.

DON'T use the Skil worm drive oil in a saw with helical cut gears it will create too much drag, too much heat and it's not formulated for the rolling action of helical gears. The gear cases aren't designed to handle the expansion of oil as worm drive saws are so you have an excellent chance of blowing the seals out of one or more bearings. I use Valvoline waterproof wheel bearing grease in all the saws I rebuild. It has EP additives, a high drop point and lots of molybdenum.

I've got a vintage Makita worm-drive that I believe has hypoid gears, and I think they're plastic too. Anyway, they were VERY explicit about NOT using the Skil (Only other worm-drive saw at the time.) lube. So, maybe double check what's what for your particular brand-model-year saw on their website and go from there. As other have noted they really are not all the same...

The Makita with the longitudinal motor is often confused as worm drive, it's contained steel hypoid years since it hit the market when Porter Cable, Rockwell, Milwaukee, Thor, Cummins, Skil, Wappat, Speedway, Black & Decker, Van Dorn & Stanley all already had worm drive saws on the market. Most had their own recommended oil and it wouldn't be compatible with hypoid gears.
