Gear puller logo stumper

I picked up this little puller at a flea market today. Nothing special about it, except for the fact that I couldn’t read the logo. The model number (2529) and the COO (U.S.A.) are clear. The name, not so much. I could tell it was some kind of fancy script and the name was not popping out at me. Bought it because it was going to bother me if I didn't. I hate an unsolved mystery.

Here is a close-up before I had a chance to clean it up.

Now that I hit it with a little WD-40 and a soft wire brush, I’m not so sure that rust is the problem with my inability to read the logo. I’m not even sure this is English. It almost looks Gaelic or something like that. Not only do I not recognize the name, I’m not sure I can even discern what each letter is.

Just my .02, but that looks to me like it says Oldforge. I have had a number of their tools and they are quite nice.

Also, that is a battery terminal puller in case that helps too.
Similar design to the classic Snap On and Blue Bird units.
Nice group from the flea market.

Love those Oldforge tools. I have a few and am always interested in more but they are not around these parts much.

Old forge 100%. They used old English on some of their older stuff. And I have had a couple pullers from them.

Will make an OTC tool thread someday but right now I wanted to share this with you. I was rebuilding the transmission in my 1967 38' Chris Craft Commander about 10 years ago. The transmission was huge. It was called a Paragon HJ7 C. Bearings in this were a foot in diameter or more (never measured any of them because I didn't have to replace any of them). Have lost all the pics of that boat and this rebuild. I still have the tool. Sold the boat. (sniff sniff)

The forcing screw is 3/4" and 12 " long.

I keep the small pieces in that metal box so as not to loose any. The only part marked is one of the attachments for keeping the legs on the yoke.

Tool #2616. It's not in the catalog posted earlier by Tool Fool. This tool is big and heavy. I would think it must be rated about 17 or 18 tons.
