I would be all over this if the open end wasn't that messed up "ratcheting open end" style. Those rarely work well IME. Still, $20 isn't too bad even from the point of view that you're only buying the ratcheting box end...

Tried finding any 8 piece set and no luck ?? Also website is real slow.

Not like 8mm 10mm 13mm 15mm 17mm 19mm Just give me a set that is 8mm-19mm

That is why I purchased the 20 piece set from sears, $49 for gearwrench and $59 for craftsman. They are not the ratcheting open end however. (I am not a fan of that)

I love the ratcheting ends..Only ever had 1 break and well i was because I use a hammer to loose then bolt. Ratchet wouldn't fit.

When you go to the GW site they have a clearance (Hotdeals) group of tools also.

I just picked up the 8 pc set the OP listed 128.38 and the 20 pc Metric Combination Ratcheting Wrench and bit set (GW99120) 21.56.
The SEMA2014 discount for 108.39.
Total $44.46 for metric and SAE sets...

Hmmm, I really didn't need another wrench set. Especially SAE.

But I like GearWrench tools, it's a great price, and I haven't been willing to try the gimmick 'ratcheting' open end at retail prices.

Shipping was free, but there was $1.75 CA tax.

I received my wrenches and they nicely finished. A little light in construction but they'll do well for my needs.

I just went back and got 3 more for gifts. The deal is still on for 2 more days. What's better is I fooled around and put the metric set in my cart. 32 bucks plus 3.99 shipping. I'll do that.

Probably China. I was at sears today and all of the racheting wrenches were China.

Am I the only one that don't really see this as much of a deal? I think Sears sells a 20 piece kit for $49. Same thing except that the open end is much better since it's the standard open end.

Gearwrench has a better ratcheting device than Craftsman and are Taiwan not China. Also the ratcheting open end comes in handy.

It is the Gear wrench 20 piece set that sears is selling for $49.99. Comes with both Metric and SAE. Also not all GW is made in Taiwan.

Sears is messed up but they do not know it LoL Gearwrench 20 pc is still $50 and 30 pc w/stubbys is $79....this is a great time to buy from Sears. You do not need to chase prices through out the year. Now is the time for the best prices if interested. :drool:

The code never worked on the metric 85597. The 85597 metric set was in the Hot Deals section of the gear wrench website until today.

I ended up purchasing both sets and a pair of straight snips last night. Total was $56.59 after tax.

I Havent seen it yet this year, but a couple years ago on black friday i got a 32 piece set of GW ratcheting wrenches (10 each SAE and Metric, and 6 of each in stubby) for 40 dollars.

its free from shop your way over 35 I think or free store pick up if you want to drive over to one... its been on sale the past month pretty much sae goes to 3/4 metric stops at 18mm. skips 7, 9 and 11.
