You can sure tell that I love my gear wrenches. i'll grab these wrenches before any of the others.
I bought a set of the new mac sockets called the (edge). mac tool guy said that they will turn a bolt head that has been rounded off 70%. I have not tried them yet, just thought someone else has.

Hmmmm do the Mac's have a flatter side with a deeper concave in the corners or what? Also I cant tell that you like the ratcheting wrenches to much from the 50 million sets you have :lol_hitti

True, gearwrenches kick ****. The MAC "edge..." can you get a close up? What makes them different? I've never seen one up close before.

The Mac guy has been trying to sell me some of those new Edge sockerts. I'm waiting to hear some feedback on them before I decide to buy.

I like the "gear wrenchs". My wife got me the small set of Craftsman SAE and Metric 2 years ago for Christmas. I use them as often as I can. I'd really like to get some more, as they are really handy in some situations.

mac edge gear wrenches

mac tool guy just left and I had to have the mac edge gear wrenches to go with my edge sockets. started not to get them at a price of 295.99 and thought what the heck.I tried to take a close up of the wrench to show what the groves look like but there is a bad glare.
also bought a stud puller for stripped or broken studs.

Sweet, I didn't know anyone was making 6 point ratcheting wrenches yet. Do you happen to know if these are also out under the Blackhawk brand?

Ever broke a Gearwrench? I took my standard Gearwrenchs to the shop, when I got my Armstrongs. I like the idea of having a standard box wrench to break something loose, so I don't break the Gearwrenchs.

As for the rounded fasteners, has anyone tried the spline drive style?

I hope other manufacturers bring out 6 point ratcheting wrenches because 200.00 is to much for those especially since the guts are all the same throughout all the brands

And I was going to go ahead and buy a complete set....I am defently holding out for 6 point from another manufacturer

You mean the SK ones? Haven't tried them yet, but it is interesting to note that Sears features them on page 57 of their 2006-2007 Craftsman catalog. At the bottom of the description, it clearly states that the SK spline ratcheting wrenches are made in Taiwan.

The guts might be from Taiwan...which all manufacturers are getting the guts from a central location....but the rest of the wrench is made in the USA...people need to understand that just because the guts are made in Taiwan doesnt mean the entire wrench is too....unless a company is making them over there

MAC Edge products are made in Taiwan and they are priced at the same lever of USA Made MAC products. I would be seriously questioning their quality.

The edge design looks like the Snap-on Flank Drive Plus system, but applied to the box end AND the open one, instead of just the open end...

The only MAC product I've got is a 3/8" extension I got for free. Hasn't been a Mac dealer that lasted a full year in my neck of the woods, for over 10 years...
