Not saying that GW is better than Snappie but I would say there just as strong. I have several 80 tooth Snap On ratchets but the GW and Matco ratchets are my go to ratchets and the Snap On's are my back ups. I personally like the GW ratchets better and use them hard everyday and there still going strong. They are Taiwan made but the quality is definatley there.

Made in China to Danaher specs.... that what says on the back of the label....
I am stunned how good they are....

I know this is a really old thread but I have been thinking about getting a few Gearwrench ratchets and I was wondering if they made a 1/2" Drive, Flex Head, Cushion Grip Ratchet. I was not able to find one in their catalog.

I had a GW 1/2 Flex and sold it. I really like GW ratchets and have just about every model. I hate the flex heads though, especially the 1/2. Just hate the detents and the fact that the center detent left the head with an angle on it.. basically It would not be straight. I replaced these with Armstrong Locking flex ratchets which I can recommend 100% more. I also have some snapon 3/8 flex ratchets I love, but that's another price range. My opinion of course.. everyone has different preferences.

John316, Thanks for your feedback. I did not know that the GW flex heads would not go straight due to the center detent. Have a few Snap on tools so if I do not go with GW I will go with Snap on. I am just finding it hard to justify the Snap on price when you see the price of the GW stuff.

That sounds like a bad ratchet. Mine sits perfectly straight on the center detent.
They still don't offer a cushion grip in 1/2" drive, I have the flex head 1/4" & 3/8" cushion grips, and was hoping for a matching 1/2".
I have the 84T, and it is an EXCELLENT ratchet. Never skipped a tooth or had any issues, even with a 3 foot cheater pipe on it, and using daily in a truck shop. I reach for my GW flex heads and stubby ratchet before my Snap-Ons nowadays.
